MMM Ortles Reinhold Messner (15 minutes’ walk from the hotel)
The MMM Ortles is one of the four off-shoots that have developed from the mountain museum MMM Firmian. Here, at the entrance of the village, “ice” and “the Ortler” are the topics of an exhibition covering 300 square metres below ground. Here Reinhold Messner tells about glaciers, about ice and great ice mountains - the South Pole and the North Pole - the Ortler being the symbolic centre.

Ortler Area Museum (approx. 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel)
Since 1998, the “Museum für das Ortlergebiet” has been located on the ground floor of the local school. It is a space reflecting passion and empathy for the Ortler region, where the past and its origins are remembered, paying homage to the memory of the small and the great of this region.
Walk through the history and culture of the Ortler region, see the special exhibition on 1915-1918 - World War I, and view the extraordinary collection of minerals from the Ortler region and its surroundings. The museum guides you through the 100-year-old history of tourism in the Ortler area, its mountain huts and the local patrons and pioneers. Up to now most of the contributions were financed and found by volunteers, especially by Mr Konrad Knoll. The museum owes its detailed collections to Mr Knoll’s painstaking efforts and financial support.
